5 Signs Your Job Is No Longer Serving You

Sometimes the biggest career red flag isn’t being overworked — it’s realising your job no longer fits who you are or where you’re headed. If you’re questioning whether it’s time to move on, here are five signs your job might not be serving you anymore:
1. You’re Constantly Drained — Even After Time Off
If weekends, holidays, or even a good night’s sleep no longer recharge you, it could be a sign that your job is emotionally or mentally exhausting you in a way rest can’t fix.
2. You’ve Stopped Learning or Growing
A job should challenge you, stretch your skills, or help you move forward. If you feel like you’re stuck in autopilot, it might be time to seek growth elsewhere.
3. You Dread Mondays (More Than Usual)
Everyone gets the Sunday blues now and then — but if the thought of going to work fills you with anxiety or dread every week, it’s a sign something deeper isn’t right.
4. Your Values No Longer Align
If you’ve grown, but the company culture hasn’t… or you’re working for a business whose practices you no longer believe in, misalignment can make even a good job feel wrong.
5. You’re Only Staying Out of Fear
Fear of change. Fear of not finding better. Fear of disappointing others. If fear is your only reason to stay, it’s worth asking: what’s the cost of staying stuck?
Jobs aren’t meant to be life sentences. Sometimes moving on isn’t quitting — it’s choosing yourself. When a job stops serving your growth, wellbeing, or goals, it might be time to serve yourself instead.
